I am an associate nephrologist at BWH Renal Division and Instructor in Medicine at HMS. My Area of Excellence is to prevent kidney failure by discovery of new therapeutics and implementation of clinical innovations for diabetic kidney disease.

I have been working in the Bonventre Lab since 2017. My bench research focuses on acute tubular injury in diabetic nephropathy. I received the Ben J. Lipps Research Fellowship of the American Society of Nephrology to study proximal tubule metabolism during acute tubular injury in diabetic kidney disease. My research found that acute tubular injury caused progression of diabetic nephropathy and kidney fibrosis due to mitochondrial overload of lipid
